...would "smell" as sweet? Well, maybe not Shakespeare! The ideal web hosting plan is one that is reasonable in cost and heavy on services. There are a lot of great companies out there providing excellent web hosting plans. Know the facts before you commit yourself to a web hosting plan and a web hosting provider. You don't want to end up like those star-crossed lovers...
Did you know that when you sign up with a web hosting service provider that you cannot transfer your domain name for at least 90 days!? This is important to remember. You don't want to sign up for a web hosting plan only to realize that they do not have enough to offer you. It is important that you research your plan, ask as many questions you need, and investigate fully. You might find an inexpensive plan that "looks" OK...but ask around. Are they a good provider?
Is their customer service timely and responsive? Do they have a lot of down-time on their services? Knowing what to expect is important. And while every host will say that they are always "on", doing some independent checking will confirm their facts. A good site show off referrals from past and present customers who have benefited from their web hosting plans - don't hesitate to contact them yourself and ask questions. Sometimes it's best to cut out the middle man!
