What the Heck is a Web Server?
So what's a web server? Some people feel that they just cannot learn computer stuff, or that you must be a certain type of person to be able to understand the computer language. This is just not true. Anyone can learn if they have the right resources at their disposal.
There is no need to feel discouraged, you should feel excited that you are about to learn about the fastest growing industry in the world. The internet is today's highest growing career center, money maker and has the most opportunity for everyone.
Web Server: Defined
A web server is a computer that stores web documents and makes them available for the rest of the world to see through the world wide web. Every web server has an IP address and a domain name, which is what you type into your web browser to allow that web site to be visible by you. So, to sum up. A web server is the software that holds all the information on the internet and allows the rest of the world to view it by assigning each site of information a domain name and an IP address. Simple as that! See, this is not hard to understand once it is explained properly.
