Web design isn't limited to business pages. It used to be, because when the internet was first developed, only a select number of people were able to access and utilize the basics of roaming freely on what was to become the information superhighway. Since each page has to be manually created, uploaded and maintained by a server, it was hard for anyone to get their foot in the door.
It was an expensive prospect to be housed on the internet, so businesses and those with a high source of capital were able to find themselves in the vast cyberspace of existence with an audience that couldn't, too, take part in the growth of the internet.
Aren't personal pages just a waste of space on the internet? After all, who ever sees them? Well, that question is left up to the web designer. Since many web users decide a web site is a worthwhile investment for whatever reason, they decide to find a home on the internet. Personal pages have a wide variety of categories that utilize web design concepts and originality in such ways that even personal home pages become as popular as business sites and search engines.
Sometimes just the thrill of web designing is enough to maintain a web site. Some users like to show off their pictures of family, friends, pets and vacations. Some users like to showcase their art, using web design techniques to make it stand out even more for creativity. Other users host their resumes on the internet, a lucrative way to go about finding a job in today's technologically savvy world.
Many users, however, just like to say a little something about themselves and find the web page to be the most effective way to be seen and heard in today's day and age. A web page is a biography, a work in progress, an adventure many users take, get hooked on and maintain for their entire lives.
