If you are like most webmasters, you want to get more web site traffic. Maybe you have already tried the conventional methods of marketing your web site: listing it on web search engines, telling friends and clients, and even using meta tags on your web pages.
The easiest and most effective way to get more web site traffic is by creating a newsletter. Some newsletters are very fancy and complicated, designed with Adobe Acrobat. Yours doesn't have to be as sophisticated - a simple text e-mail will work wonders.
Most web site newsletters are bi-weekly or monthly, depending on how much time you have to dedicate to creating the newsletter and how often your web site content changes.
The most important thing to remember when creating a web site newsletter is the "opt-out" feature. You don't want your newsletter to be considered SPAM, nor do you want the recipients to become annoyed by the e-mailings. At the top of your newsletter, include an e-mail address where the recipient can respond if they do not wish to receive any more e-mails from you. This way, they can easily opt-out of your newsletter and not get bent out of shape.
Getting e-mail addresses to send the newsletters to is the first order of business. Include a form on your web site that allows users to sign up for the newsletter. Explain the benefits of receiving the newsletter, including the facts and tips it provides and how it will somehow enrich their lives.
If you have a database of contacts that have purchased your products or demonstrated an interest in your web site, include them. They can opt-out later if they wish.
