Why I Designed a Web Site about my Hamster

Why design a web site around my hamster, you might ask? Because my pet is a topic about which I'm an expert. I have a seemingly endless supply of information about him, which renews itself on a daily basis. Plus, people love animals, especially cute, tiny furballs like my Russian Dwarf hamster, George. I know that I'm likely to attract a large number of visitors to my site with the focus centering around George.

A large number of people own a hamster as a pet, as evidenced by the almost 3,000 members on the "Hamster Hideout Discussion Forum." I might even be able to help other hamster owners with the information contained in my web site design, or gain valuable knowledge from visitors using my own site's informational forum for hamster owners. I have special pages about feeding, exercise, and cage maintenance.

Content I Used in the Design of My Hamster's Web Site

So, what kind of content would hamster lovers and owners alike find interesting? When designing a web site to show off my hamster to the world, I, of course, included plenty of pictures so my visitors could see just how cute he really is. On the front page of the web site, there is a large size picture of George, so that, initially, visitors get a good look at him in detail.

Other pages show him eating, running in his exercise wheel, or sleeping to go with the topics on those pages within my site. There is even a page with links, such as ones to stores that carry great hamster products or veterinarians that specialize in hamster care.
