If you are considering a fairly simply designed and low intensity web business, domain name registration may be for you. With this business, you would buy internet property, or URLs, and then sell them at a premium. This business is a little risky as you could end up with tons of internet property without any buyers. It is similar to offline real estate in that you are purchasing with the hope that someone will be willing to pay for domain name registration for a certain URL instead of deciding on a different name.
The first step is to begin acquiring properties. You will need to use a domain name registration search to pick the URLs you want to buy. The key is to get names that you believe people will want because they are catchy or simple. While most single nouns are taken, try them. If your child just had a cookie for a snack, try www.cookie.com. Use your everyday experiences to think of names. Then, think of large subjects, such as tractor equipment.
Come up with domain names you think someone may want that are related to tractor equipment and buy them. Once you begin acquiring properties, you can start to sell them.
