#5: Link Exchanges to Generate Web Site Traffic
Link exchanges are similar to online directories in that you will ask another web site to sponsor your link. However, in a link exchange you will also host a link to their web site on your own. This creates a cross-marketing where both of your web sites are building traffic against each other.
#6: Put Your Web Site Address Wherever You Can
If you are a frequenter of message boards, try putting your web site address into your user profile. Then everyone reading your posts can come to your web site. Or if you find that you often sign guestbooks, or comment on blogs, you can also leave your web site with your signature or comment. Anywhere that you can post a link back to your web site, take it. The more links you have out there the more likely it is that people will come to your web site.

Paid advertisements can be a powerful way to generate web site traffic. While this is a costly method, it is worth it as getting your web site ad put into a banner listing service can advertise your web site across the internet on web sites that you do not even know exist and get people coming to your web site. Google AdSense is an excellent program for this, and there are many others as well that can assist you in generating web site traffic fast.
