The sites people remember the most are ones that pop in the eyes of the viewer, the key to making a site pop is the web design. Building a site yourself is easy as long as you have the right tools.
There are are a few good web builders out there you can use. Macromedia Dreamweaver, and Microsoft Frontpage are two examples. They both have help pages, but Frontpage has yet to really catch on with users, though it does still operate Flash. Macromedia Dreamweaver is the industry standard and is very user friendly. You can create your own buttons using Flash for links, it accepts flash directly into the html. You do not even need to look at the html.
If you have never used a web builder or have no knowledge of html, neither will stop you from using Dreamweaver effectively. Set up original backgrounds using the user friendly Page Properties menu, and set whatever color schemes you desire with no knowledge of web-colors. It really is that easy.
There are literally hundreds of free graphics, buttons, backgrounds, and layouts available online for website users. They cost nothing, and if you have no experience with graphics, they can really make your site stand out without you really knowing anything about graphics. Web design can really be that easy. You can find freebies on Bravenet and Google searches.
