For an increase in web traffic, ditch the ads.

If you pay for web hosting, you should not have an advertisement on your web site. Period. Nothing cheapens a web site quite like an ad, particularly one that is brightly colored and in motion.

Perhaps you have traded reciprocal links with a number of web sites in order to increase your web traffic. This practice is tried and true, and certainly there is nothing wrong with it. You need to have a separate page of links where you can place all the ads you want. If the reciprocal link partner requires that you place their ad or link on your front page, forget it. You don't want your site visitors to run off to the other person's site, do you?

For an increase in web traffic, check the colors of your web pages.

We've all visited a great web site with the perfect information or products and been turned off by their choice of background or font colors. Web site visitors don't want their eyes burned by bright colors.

The colors used on your web site have a great deal to do with web traffic. Make sure your colors are mellow and complimentary.
