How does someone come up with a creative domain name? It's not that easy, nowadays, to come up with a good, quality web site name because most of the best names have already been taken. As the internet continues to grow, so will domain names, but with a few tips and trick, anybody can have the domain name of their dream.

Brainstorming Domain Names

Brainstorming various domain name variants and ideas will help you get a hold of possibilities for your web site. Once you have a list of 25 to 30, you can begin to whittle down to one that works right for you. When creating this list, you will want to make sure you focus on the specifics and not the general. If your web site is personal, center it around yourself; if it's a business, try to get as close to either the product you're peddling or the name of the business.

It doesn't always work, so, if brainstorming leaves you hanging. Try free-writing for ten minutes all the different names you can think of when viewing mental images of your web site. Use this list, too, to narrow down your choices.

Once the list is cut down to ten to 15 choices, you'll want to pop them in your internet browser and make sure they aren't already registered. If they are, cross them off your list and brainstorm some more. The goal is to find both a name you like and a name that hasn't been used so that you can use it for your web site before someone else uses it for you. This list is going to be where you find the perfect web site name for your domain so make sure you're comfortable with all the options.
