Out of the thousands of websites online today a vast majority are run from free web site hosts for personal, but also for business use. There are hundreds of different free web hosts to choose from, the question is, which one is the right one for you?
Many free site hosts only offer 10-100 megabtes of memory per site. There are only a select few hosts that offer unlimited space or even more than 250 megabytes of space. Hosts that offer more space only do so for select sites and for sites of a set theme, most are for fan sites. If you need more than 200-250 megabytes of memory, free hosting might not be for you.
There is only one true way to chose a good host: research. The most popular web hosts are the Big Three: Angelfire, Geocities, and Topcities. This does not mean, necessarily, that these hosts are for you. These hosts reserve the right to restrict what type of content you have on your site, and if your site remains inactive for too long by there standards they also reserve the right to close the site with no warning to you. That does not make them bad hosts, however.
There are hosts that will suit your specific needs. Angelfire, Geocities, and Topcities might be hosts that suit your purposes, if they aren't, there are others. Keenspace is a free web host for orginal web comic sites. Bravenet only overs 100 megabytes in memory, but offeres many freebies, such as guestbooks, flash icons, etc.
