Good web hosting comes in all forms, shapes and sizes; when it comes down to it, it's a combination of quality customer service, overall web site uptime and the type of package deal that works right for your budget and needs. While not all web hosting services may meet the latter requirement, most will go out of their way to provide you with quality service in assurance of their technological backing.
Prices are key. When it comes to prices, everybody's in competition to win customers; so, what will they do to win customers? They'll lower prices, offer better packages over time and allow for add-ons to what you currently have to win your trust and pride in their company.
Customer service is another key factor. What is their customer service like? Is it fast? Is it courteous? Is it helpful? What forms of customer service do they offer? Phone, e-mail, contact form? What way do they respond to the quickest?
Individual services will also offer special perks to being their customer, whether that be price cuts, special packages or add-on deals; these are all minor things to look at when looking for a good host for your home page.
Rating a good web host can only come from direct service with them. It's unfair to judge a company based on the looks, unless it smells like a fraud. How can you tell if a web hosting company is a fraud? Search the web for reviews on their services. Are they reputable? Do they get good reviews? What problems do customers have with them? What are the nature of these problems? Are they resolved?
