Domain name registration is used by millions of people everyday. It's hard to place demographics on who registers domain names. It is one of the truly representative and natural things to do on the internet for a person who has a web site, and let's face it, most people have web sites in today's age of technology.
Mostly 18 to 24 year olds are the main registrants of domain names. From there, it breaks down to businesses and small internet "start-up companies." The internet has paved way for businesses to run and reach a broader base of customer circulation, it's no surprise that most domain names are registered to businesses.
From there, non-profit organizations also use services to have a presence on the web. They use the internet as a means to have international reach and earn international contributions for their cause. Personal internet users, with personal web sites and resumes, also use web space to host their ideas, visions and job hunts. They use the web as a means to get their image across and most use them to share information with prospective jobs, corporations, media and fans.
Since most internet businesses require those who purchase products be 18 years or older, at least in the United States, it makes sense that fewer kids would have a place on the internet when it comes to domain names and web pages.
