You can either use Tripod's online software to build your site or choose to use a program you own, such as FrontPage, to construct your web pages. If you are a first time builder, it's best that you use Tripod's Site Builder. You will also have the option of either creating a photo album type page or an online journal. Next, you will most likely want to click the "Start with a Multi-Page Template" link and then choose from the list of web site templates.
Based upon what type of content you wish to publish, choose one of the links, such as "Most Popular Sites." My Personal Site," is probably a good choice for a first web site design. From there, you can check boxes to include such elements as "About Me" or "My Pets." After choosing a color/design theme, use the buttons at the bottom to add text, pictures, links, or extra pages. There are also buttons for deleting items from your web pages or move information around within your site.
After you've finished editing the content for your site, Tripod makes it easy for you show it off to the world. First, you can use the "Preview Site" button at the bottom of the Site Builder page to see exactly how your site will appear to online visitors. After checking your pages over for errors, simply click the "Publish to Web" button to send your pages to the worldwide web!
