Is web hosting by children safe?
Like most things in life, nothing is guaranteed. It all depends on the child. Most of the websites that are run by children are completely safe for everyone to view and a lot of fun for parents to experience. Of course, with all things that are fun, many parents are monitoring what their children advertise and post on their websites. When it comes to children and web hosting, you can never be too safe or intrusive.
Most children are doing their web hosting through websites like Yahoo's Geocities because it is free. Yahoo often monitors what is placed on their online communities because they do not wish to promote pornography and potential viruses. Overall, many parents are learning that web hosting that is done by children is completely safe and harmless. When the children's content is monitored by the parents, it is also something that they are doing together.
It is safe to let your children host their own websites and it is also a good idea. Since most of the world is run by computers, letting your children experiment with web hosting is a good way to ensure that they will remain up to date on the current computer trends and technology.
