Building your portfolio of web design projects takes time, but it well worth the effort. Your portfolio of web design samples is a direct reflection of you. You will find it nearly impossible to get hired at a decent web design firm or ad agency without a great portfolio.

Web design is a hot industry, and more and more students are mastering the art of webmastery. There are many web sites available today with tutorials and step-by-step instructions on how to create a web site; some of these are good enough for complete novices to figure out. WSYWIG web editors are advancing as well, which means that even more people will soon be able to design their own web sites.

This means that you need to put together a solid web design portfolio that proves your competency and creativity. Make the viewer believe that they cannot function without your web design talents. Your use of technology and aesthetics should be flawless.

We all have certain skills and talents that outshine others. Your web design portfolio should establish the fact that you are skilled in many areas of web design - not just Flash, advanced HTML coding, or ColdFusion.
