Too many graphics spoil the web design

A web page designed with too many graphics such as Flash shows, animated images and audio files, will be another blunder. As animated flash files are heavy, the surfer may get impatient and frustrated especially if he/she is using a slow speed Internet connection. Graphic intensive web page may also distract the user from the main web page.

Long sentences and pages

The web page must be designed as per the standards of 640 pixels long to 480 pixels wide for the comfortable viewing of the user. Failing this design, the surfer may be bored to scroll the long page and may link out. Avoid long sentences. This helps the user to comprehend the meaning of the paragraphs. Another useful tip is to have an even break-up of paragraphs, as it is easy on the viewer's eyes. Long, heavy paragraphs tend to discourage the reader from reading the content.

"Contact us," sign

A web page must be interactive be it to obtain feedback from users or to order goods online. Feedback from viewers will reveal the loopholes in web design and other problems faced by the user while surfing the web site. A static web page is hardly of any use to the surfer who is online to gather information. For example, if a professional is designing an online bookstore such as Amazon proper shopping cart signs should be placed. Also, the feedback will review the designer as what is expected from the web page.
